Magnificent State Rooms, world famous art collection,

From 9th Century nunnery to the present home of the 17th Earl of Pembroke, Wilton House provides a fascinating and relaxing day out. Created within the atmospheric setting of the Old Riding School, is the interpretative centre containing the award winning introductory film, recreated Tudor kitchen, Victorian laundry and Times Past, Times Present exhibition. You can marvel at Inigo Jones’ magnificent State Rooms, including the double cube room and admire the world famous art collection with original paintings by Van Dyck, Reynolds, Brueghel, Lely and Rubens.
The house is set in magnificent landscaped parkland, bordered by the River Nadder which is the setting for the majestic Palladian Bridge, Whispering seat and Millennium water feature by leading sculptor William Pye. The current Earl of Pembroke is a keen gardener who has created four new gardens since succeeding to the title in 1969 including the Old English Rose Garden which is awash with fragrance during the summer.

For children there is also a wonderful adventure playground which will keep them amused for hours.

The Palladian Restaurant serves refreshments throughout the day and you will also find a range of quality souvenirs in the Gift Shop.
