Charnwood Museum

About

The museum opened in 1999 and features a wide range of exhibits, which reflect local history and industries.

Permanent exhibitions have been grouped into four areas: ‘Coming to Charnwood’, ‘Natural History’, ‘The People and Industries of Charnwood’ and ‘Digging for Victory’. Each contain exhibits from the past and modern, interactive displays. Visitors can enjoy playing a computer game about Loughborough, handling rocks from Charnwood’s volcanic past, walk below the giant oak tree, hear stories from local Land Girls via special listening posts or view the locally made Auster aeroplane, suspended from the ceiling.

Sundays 2pm – 5pm
